This is a FREE event for kids to participate in.  Parents choose which route their child rides.  Every child receives a goody bag & trophy for their efforts!  No pre-registration needed.  Sign your little one(s) up at packet pickup on Wednesday or beginning at 8:00am on Saturday in Mack Dick Pavilion parking lot.KIDS MAP

100 Mile Route (1st lap for 24 Solo Road and Slicks & Knobbies Racers)

Road Lap (Inside Palo Duro Canyon) Elevation Profile & Map

ELEVATION GAIN OF 279 Ft. / LAP

24 Hour Solo Road (Competitive) – This is an electronic chip-timed event.  Racers start in Juniper Campground & make the climb out of Palo Duro Canyon.  You will then complete the 100 mile route listed above.  The 100 mile route is non-drafting.  There will be stocked rest stops along the way & support vehicles on the course.  FOLLOW VEHICLES NOT ALLOWED.  Your support crew may meet you at the designated rest stops.  Once you complete the 100 mile lap, you will re-enter Palo Duro Canyon & head to Juniper Campground.  Upon swiping your timing chip, you will complete your first lap.  The rest of your 24 Hours will be spent inside Palo Duro Canyon on the road loop where you may draft.  You will compete against others who register for 24 Hour Road Solo and who also fall into the same age bracket – Junior, 18-34, 35-49, 50+.  Top 3 in each age bracket will be awarded trophies.

Competitive Road – This is an electronic chip-timed event.  Racers will start in Juniper Campground & follow the marked route on the road inside Palo Duro Canyon.  You will never leave the canyon in this category.  These laps begin & end in Juniper Campground.  Teams will make exchanges upon completion of a lap in Juniper Campground.  Drafting is allowed.  You will compete against others who register for the same hour category (6, 12, 24) and who also fall into the same age bracket – Junior, 18-34, 35-49, 50+.  Top 3 in each age bracket per hour category will be awarded trophies.  THIS INFO IS NOT FOR 24 HOUR SOLO ROAD – PLEASE SEE ABOVE


Slicks & Knobbies (Solo / Competitve Racers Only) – This is an electronic chip-timed event.  Racers start on their road bikes in Juniper Campground & make the climb out of Palo Duro Canyon.  You will then complete the 100 mile route listed above.  The 100 mile route is non-drafting.  There will be stocked rest stops along the way & support vehicles on the course.  FOLLOW VEHICLES NOT ALLOWED.  Your support crew may meet you at the designated rest stops.  Once you complete the 100 mile lap, you’ll re-enter Palo Duro Canyon & head to Chinaberry Day Use Area.  Upon swiping your timing chip, you will complete your first lap.  Next you’ll switch to your mountain bike & the rest of your 24 Hours will be spent riding the competitive mountain bike loop.  Top 3 men and top 3 women will be awarded trophies.

COMPETITIVE MTB INFO

Competitive MTB – This is an electronic chip-timed event.  Racers start in Juniper Campground and will ride on the road until Capital Peak trail entrance (will be course marshall there).  This will be the start of your 1st lap.  Racers will complete their laps in Chinaberry Day Use Area.  There will be a Chip Exchange Zone in Chinaberry for teams to exchange riders.  You will compete against others who register for the same hour category (6, 12, 24) and who also fall into the same age bracket – Junior, 18-34, 35-49, 50+.  Top 3 in each age bracket per hour category will be awarded trophies.

Non-Competitive Road & MTB – These are not electronic chip-timed events.  You will follow routes listed on the event map above.  Road riders will be on the same road that the competitive riders use inside Palo Duro Canyon.  MTB riders will be on a seperate course from the competitive racers.  Participants in these categories may ride either or both areas as they choose.  You do not have to stay with just the road or the dirt.  However, please stay on your route.
